Punkin`s Catfish Bar-B-Que & Catfish in Pauls Valley

Went there New Year’s Eve. They were out of food at 7:00 PM! Brought my wife a pork chop. She had ordered a loaded potato because they were out of meat. Waitress was hateful and told us to have a nice day, upon bringing out the wrong food. Spoke with the owner the next week. Under new ownership.Said she’d been in the restaurant business for years. Obviously not ownership. ZERO customer service. We won’t go back.

We stopped for a quick bite, very friendly, really great food, big portions, got catfish. I told the waitress I liked tarter sauce, she brought me a whole squeezy bottle Can’t wait to go back to try the bbq. The sauce on the table was super good. We go through Paul’s valley a lot. This will be a staple in our future trips ❤️

For $18.00, shouldn't all you can eat catfish include unlimited hush puppies as well? Also we weren't told about the pickle bar. We overhead another server mention it to a family. Our server seemed kinda like we weren't good enough to be in there. At Sonny's in Purcell, the hush puppies are unlimited as well. I just felt maybe because of our swim wear, that we were given the cold shoulder. 2 hush puppies for an entire plate? Come on now. I was not impressed at all, and probably won't be back. Me and the wifey were willing to give it a shot, but now definitely left feeling unsatisfied.

Once a year my mate and I take a drive to Paul's Valley from Ft. Worth just to go to Punkins. Thats how good the food is to us. And it makes for a nice little getaway.

This is great for Southern cooking. The fried green tomatoes are delicious and the fried catfish is some of the best out there. Well worth a visit.

One of the best Catfish I have eaten. Really a gem. I would go out of my way from Oklahoma City to eat here.

We arrived at 6:45pm we were told to choose a seat. We pick our seat and waited about 5 minutes for a menu and drinks. We ordered the all you can eat catfish $18 bucks a piece our waiter only came to the table 2 times, one to bring extra fish and two to bring the check. I overheard another waitress offer the pickle bar to another table shortly after they got there. We were never offered the pickle bar. My cup sat empty for 5 minutes. And their hush puppies were about the size of a quarter. You would think if I’m paying.almost $20 bucks a meal I would get more than 2 hush puppies. And my sweet potato was small.

OMG the bbq was excellent so much food and the service was very fast and polite...will drive from okc to eat there again

First, the staff is incredibly friendly and very helpful. The food however left a lot to be desired. I got two silver dollar sized onion rings, and the brisket was dry. There was nothing on my plate that I would go back to get again.

My family and I stopped here after a rodeo, so we were all hungry and ready to eat. The waitress was very sweet and the food was really good. A few of us ordered the fried fish and it was delicious. We will be returning next time we are in town.

Just got food I always order the brisket dinners today ordered it it was very tough to chew so couldn't eat it. the lady that took my money when I payed told me there was barbeque sauce in the food boxes she lied there was not very disappointed with this place will not be eating there again and will be letting everyone know about my food experience with this place not worth almost 40 dollars that I was charged .

Best catfish we've ever had! No bones and fresh flavor. No fishy taste.We had the senior plates and it was plenty for us both. Highly recommend this restaurant! Prices are very reasonable and service is outstanding as well. Will definitely return to eat here and get a bigger plate of catfish!!

Good food. Even better though was the service. Really appreciated the smiles, friendly manner, and hometown hospitality on a very busy Sunday lunch. I had the pork chops, loved them. Seasoned well and moist. I couldnt eat one, but the others in my group had the homemade cinnamon rolls(they had pecans I think).

Great experience. Amazing food definitely won't leave hungry! Forget the plates they served your food on serving trays! Staff was attentive and thorough. Very clean as well! Recommend 100%.

We tried it ALL and ❤ LOVED it! 🤩 The catfish is the best we have ever had, ribs, steak, fried tomatoes, ocra, pickels, hush puppies, and chicken fry! 🐥 The wait staff are amazingly friendly and wonderful, especially Adrienne!!! ❤❤

Lady was very polite when I called to see if they delivered, us being in a semi was hoping so. Their cat fish looks amazing. Sadly they don't start delivery until Tuesday.

Couldn't wait till I got back to Davis i ordered catfish my bf ordered ribs and brisket all I can say Wow it's amazing and the employees were so nice. We will definitely be back!!!

This place was amazing we decided to eat here instead of more mainstream places after a day at the lake and our food was absolutely amazing! Catfish was crispy and not too salty and the steak was perfectly cooked and seasoned we will definitely be back next time we come down

Delicious food, great prices, quick service. Generous portions, a single choice off the favorites menu was too much for me.

We just stopped in to pick up some great food from Punkin's and we met the owner, she was so wonderful and kind, and shared with us some fried pickles which by the way were totally amazing. Then there was this lovely little waitress, she was patient, and kind and about making the customer feel welcomed. You ladies rock, and the food is really good too.

Chicken fried steak and catfish are excellent, great food,great service. First time here and will stop here again and highly recommend it.

This place is a must if you're in the area. We live in Oklahoma City, and we stopped on the way to Dallas. They bring their house made pickles to the table as an appetizer, and they were the crispiest pickles ever!!!

I love Punkins, usually eat here several times a week. The new owners have really improved the quality of food - great cuts of meat and lots of fresh items. Even though there are lots of items on the menu I like a lot, I always come back for the catfish. I always get it with the green tomato relish and it is delicious. Fresh, hot, and hand breaded. Can't recommend this place enough.

Passing through and wanted something other than a drive-through joint. This is a classic BBQ place where the service is friendly and you get more food than you can eat. Our family had a mixture of items and all said they were great. Would stop here again if I was in the area. Check it out.... You will not be dissatisfied.

I ordered their 3 meat bbq combo, and there was so much meat, I took enough home for a second meal. My wife ordered the chopped brisket sandwich and fries and she had leftovers too. I also added a side salad and what was cool about that, is they bring a bottle of dressing instead of little packets or cups like most places do. If you like pickles with your bbq, they had a pickle bar. Great food and great service!

Everything was amazing! I loved the fish and the ribs literally feel off the bone and were great! Also, Best Hush Puppies I've had in a long time! Definitely a great place to eat!

I was hoping to find some good catfish. Boy, did I ever. When I was headed towards Paul's Valley, I saw a billboard with Elvis on it and the word "Punkin's". I knew immediately where I was going to dine. It just so happens they have some really good catfish. The service was friendly and helpful. I plan on visiting again.

We've eaten at Punkin's several times a year for over 30 years. Always love the catfish. Generous portions, friendly owners, very worth the drive from wherever! 6 stars!

Wow! Pleasantly surprised!! Great food, wonderful and friendly staff. Seems like everyone is family there... Customers, staff and even the outsiders (me) were treated like they knew you forever! We'll definitely be back.

Great service, bit pricey, surcharge for paying with credit card which is weird. Catfish was the best part.

If it has been awhile since you tried Punkins, you have to try it again! I have to say that we tried this place many years ago and were not impressed, we had heard they were amazing in their glory days. I have to say that those days are here again! We went in over the weekend by a recommendation that they have new owners and we were blown away! It was a Saturday night and they were really busy, but we were able to get a table really quickly. The service was amazing and the food was outstanding. The pork ribs were fall off the bone and so flavorful! The catfish was great as well. The pork chops are hand cut and amazing! So far everything we tried was amazing. We talked with friends that said their steak was the best that they have had in a long time. So give them another try! You won't be disappointed. We look forward to working through the menu. The new owners take pride in what they are doing and the food that they serve. So glad to see this place has turned around. We will be back!

My sister had Punkin's cater our Christmas dinner. the food was amazing. Turkey, Ham, mashed potatoes, dressing, green beans and corn. I can not wait to come back to visit and go the the restaurant to try more

Great place!! Service was amazing! The food was wonderful. Our catfish was hot and served with a smile. We were welcomed as soon as we walked in the door and not only did our server, but all servers thanked us for coming in and invited us back! Real down home feeling! Will definitely go back!

Nice place for bbq just off the highway in Paul’s Valley. Service was a bit slow for it being not busy. The staff was great though, and the food was great too. The Mac and cheese was the best stuff, creamy with a hint of spice.

I came to town to take my mom to dinner and she wanted to drive over to Pauls Valley and eat at Punkin’s. I was shocked to see the absolute disregard for safety during this time. The place was packed! Absolutely no distance between tables. I asked the unmasked waitress if they had additional seating away from the crowd and she alerted the unmasked manager who told me they don’t mandate mask but we could set in the dinning area which was equally packed. We left! Today I learned Pauls Valley Schools had to be delayed, hmmmm.
